Multiple Pathologies - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit features a full body view revealing the brain shown transparently behind the forehead, the anatomy of the throat and upper airway, the various muscles of the body, the lungs and the colon. This image points out the various injuries and pathologies involved in this case with arrows pointing from the labels to the appropriate body regions and organs. This includes the dysphagia, colitis, pneumonia, central pontine myelolysis, and deformities of the right and left feet and ankles. Also, the body is surrounded by a blue glow from the neck down representing the quadriplegia. One enlarged view of the brain includes enlarged views of the right and left feet and ankles. A sagittal (side cut-away) view of the brain and brain stem allows us to show a discoloration within the pons representing the CPM. The enlarged views of the feet and ankles illustrates the various pathologies of these regions in greater detail. The enlarged view of the left foot reveals the severe forefoot deformity with plantar flexion contractures of the 1st through 5th metatarsophalangeal joints, the hallux medial eminence bunion, the fixed hammertoe deformities of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th toes and the left ankle equinus contracture. The enlarged view of the right foot reveals the hallux rigidus and fixed plantar flexion deformity of the metatarsophalangeal joint, the hallux medial eminence bunion, the equinus deformity of the ankle, the hammertoe deformity of the 2nd through 5th toes and the plantar flexion deformity of the 2nd through 4th toes.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"I just wanted to let you know that after several days on trial, I settled [my client's] construction accident case for $4.5 million. Immediately after the jury was discharged, I spoke with several jurors who told me that they really appreciated the medical illustrations for their clarity in dealing with [my client's] devastating injuries. They also expressed their gratitude in being able to read from a distance all of the notations without difficulty. Obviously, the boards were visually persuasive. I am certain that this contributed to our successful result."

"A few words about The Doe Report: recently in a brachial plexus injury case, we used an image from The Doe Report to demonstrate the injury. We downloaded the PDF file image, and were amazed at the quality. The hard copies that you sent were even more clear. As well, we could not have been happier when you customized the image and reversed the injury from the left shoulder to the right shoulder, which is where our client's injury was.

The speed and cost-effectiveness of the product made it the perfect tool for our purposes. We will use The Doe Report again in future cases."

"I thought you might want to know that after we sent a copy of your illustration to the defendants, with a copy to the insurance company, they increased their offer by an additional million dollars and the case was settled for $1,900,000.00.

I appreciate your help!"
