Attempted Anterior Lumbar Fusion with Intra-operative Vascular Damage - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit illustrates an attempted anterior lumbar fusion with intra-operative vascular damage using six images. The two images on the left serve to teach the anatomy of the surgical region. Anatomical landmarks include the inferior vena cava, abdominal aorta, common iliac arteries and veins, right external iliac artery and vein, and the right internal iliac artery and vein. The remaining images outline the operative procedure. First, an incision is displayed in the left lower abdomen. Next, the abdominal contents and vessels are shown retracted, exposing the lumbar spine. Then, a drill is shown approaching the L4-5 disc space. The last image portrays the left common iliac vein being avulsed and the inferior vena cava being lacerated.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"A few words about The Doe Report: recently in a brachial plexus injury case, we used an image from The Doe Report to demonstrate the injury. We downloaded the PDF file image, and were amazed at the quality. The hard copies that you sent were even more clear. As well, we could not have been happier when you customized the image and reversed the injury from the left shoulder to the right shoulder, which is where our client's injury was.

The speed and cost-effectiveness of the product made it the perfect tool for our purposes. We will use The Doe Report again in future cases."

"We got a defense verdict yesterday! Your exhibit was extremely helpful in showing the jury how unlikely it is to damage all four of the nerve branches which control the sense of taste."

"The Doe Report's Do-It-Yourself Exhibits program enables easy customization of complex medical exhibits at a reasonable expense and in a timely manner. Practically speaking, custom medical exhibits are no longer an unthinkable luxury, but a routine necessity."

Jack S. Cohen

"The illustrations have consistently been well documented, accurate and timely. Most important though is that the illustrations demonstrate to juries and claims people the persuasive power of visual communication. Our firm has achieved multiple eight figure settlements and verdicts over the past ten years... Medical Legal Art has been there with us on every case."
