L4-5 Hemilaminectomy, Discectomy and Fusion Procedure - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit depicts an L4-5 hemilaminectomy, discectomy and fusion procedure. The first two illustrations portray a right L4-5 hemilaminectomy and discectomy surgery. The first illustration shows a posterior view of the lower back and lumbar spine of a caucasian figure. In it, an incision is made into the lower back from L4-S1 to expose the L4-5 disc space. The second illlustration shows a right sided hemilaminectomy in which the L4 lamina is removed. Also, the herniated L4-5 disc herniation is removed. The third illustration begins the L4-5 decompression laminectomy, discectomy and fusion surgery. It shows a posterior view of the lower back and lumbar spine of a caucasian figure. In it, a new, larger incision is made from L3-S1 to re-expose the L4-5 disc space. Also in this illustration, the harvest site of a right hip bone graft is indicated. The fourth illustration shows the decompression laminectomy and discectomy performed at L4-5. In this illustration, the lamina and soft tissues are removed. The fifth illustration shows the bone graft harvested from the right hip through a separate incision. The sixth illustration shows the decorticated bone surfaces of the lateral spine and the placement of the right hip bone graft material from L4-5 for fusion.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"You and your company are wonderful. Your service, turnaround time, quality and price were better than I could have asked for. Please add me to your long list of satisfied customers."

Robert F. Linton, Jr.
Linton & Hirshman

"A few words about The Doe Report: recently in a brachial plexus injury case, we used an image from The Doe Report to demonstrate the injury. We downloaded the PDF file image, and were amazed at the quality. The hard copies that you sent were even more clear. As well, we could not have been happier when you customized the image and reversed the injury from the left shoulder to the right shoulder, which is where our client's injury was.

The speed and cost-effectiveness of the product made it the perfect tool for our purposes. We will use The Doe Report again in future cases."

Andrew Needle
Needle Gallagher & Ellenberg, P.A.

"I wanted to thank you for the terrific job you did illustrating my client's injuries. The case was settled at the pre-suit mediation, and I believe a good part of the success we had was due to the medical legal art you prepared.

Your work received the ultimate compliment at the conclusion of the mediation. The hospital risk manager took the exhibit with them at the conclusion of mediation, and will be using it to train nurses on how to prevent bed sores..."

Steven G. Koeppel

"We got a defense verdict yesterday! Your exhibit was extremely helpful in showing the jury how unlikely it is to damage all four of the nerve branches which control the sense of taste."
